A radio-controlled aircraft also referred to as RC aircraft or RC plane, is a small flying machine that is controlled remotely by an operator on the ground using a hand-held radio transmitter. Most common RC Aircraft types can be scale, semi-scale and non-scale models. These three terms refer to the reality of the model; whether it replicates a real aircraft (scale), is a close representation of a real aircraft (semi-scale) or is a completely made-up design (non-scale). Scaled RC Aircrafts are extensively used in modern aviation industry and defense sector to determine and validate the original aircraft designs.

The basic RC Aircraft types are trainer airplanes, sport airplanes, aerobatic airplanes, warbirds, vintage RC airplanes, RC float planes.

The RC aircraft workshop of Edurade makes the participants walk through the science of flying objects by making them design and fabricate their own RC Aircrafts. Scratch building a RC Aircraft rather than building it from a commercial kit, kitbashing or buying it pre-assembled helps participants understand the concepts of aerodynamics, flight dynamics,aero-structures and avionics involved in aircraft design in an application oriented manner. This RC Aircraft Design aeromodelling workshop is delivered through the below mentioned sessions.


Design Session

Note:The parts marked* are not parts of economy kit. These components would be provided during the RC Aircraft workshop (per team) but would be taken back after the workshop.
